Art nouveau, think Tamara de Limpica

I am a sucker for a lot of different things. I love the expressionists, the cubists, the surrealists, art deco, art nouveau, impressionism. Goodness, I guess I like almost everybody except whoever is creating art deco right now. It is probably cliche to notice how common it is to look backward and admire everything only to look around you and be disgusted. Crochet Playgrounds by Toshiko Horiuchi MacAdam

In the mid 1990Japanese artist Toshiko Horiuchi MacAdam was showing a large scale crochet artwork at an art gallery when two rambunctious children approached her and asked if the sculpture, resembling a colorful hammock, could be climbed on.

Sculpture “Friends” By , Nnmandi Okonkwo

Nigerian sculptor Nnamdi Okonkwo created this monumental sculpture that stands outside of Fifth Avenue on the Park, a condominium building in Harlem. The sculpture stands right in front of Marcus Garvey Park and has been cause to much controversy. Many people claimed that the statue gave a bad representation of Black women but through it all the sculpture has remained to our delight.
