Transgender Policies Progress at LGBT Caucus

President Barack Obama was the first President of the United States to have a closed-door meeting with transgender activists concerning transgender rights. Some of the Progress For Transgender People Made by President Barack Obama and His Administration: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) added gender identity to the equal employment opportunity policy governing all federal jobs. The Department of State revised the standards for changing a gender marker on a passport without surgery, making the process less burdensome for transgender people. Read an interesting article over at Umlud’s Place about a WWII-era ad that today would unquestionably be considered pretty damn homoerotic. Seriously, look at this. Head over to Umlud’s to get the full copy. What’s interesting about it is that it and the whole campaign was based on actual stories from members of the military.
